The pub was built in the 16th Century and is named after John Rattlebone who was fatally wounded in the Battle of Sherston in 1016 when Edmund Ironside defeated King Canute. The pub is possibly one of the oldest in the Village. Pool and skittles in outside barn. 2 petanque pistes. Nearest BR station: Chippenham
